Skin flakes on rat

I came home from school one day and I took my rat out to play. Next thing I know he's got an orange skin rash. We think it might be the baby shampoo that I use to give him a bath once a week,but I'm not sure. Can you help me figure out what it is that is giving Dillan this allergy symptom? PS He's a black hooded rat.

Are you 100% positive this wasn't there before and you simply didn't notice it? Orange skin on male rats is pretty common and it's known as buck grease. Gentle rubbing with a soft bristled toothbrush can dislodge heavy build up, but generally, it's not harmful.
