rat showing me whoes boss

I recently added a hammock to my rats cage and suddenly my one rat went berserk over the hammock as if he didn't like it. he started biting the corners of the hammock and then suddenly started biting my hand very hard. I couldn't come closer to him let alone even put my hand in the cage. I don't why he did this as he does allow me to touch him but he also very dominant over the other one.

Well, he's dominant and he was probably a little offended that you put anything new into his cage - he's most likely cage territorial. I personally don't have much experience dealing with this; however Sandy Todd (also an expert on this site) has wonderful teachings, and I would recommend asking her how to calm your rat down.
