The Incredible Healing Rat

Question
About a month ago, I emailed you about my rattie, Squeaker, a now 33-month old female, who was having difficulty healing from a complicated tumor removal.  Amazingly enough, she healed completely.  (And many thanks for your information and support during a trying time).  She is, however, continuing to have tumor eruptions in the area.  The newest one appearing only a week after she finally healed from her surgery.  After consulting the vet, we have opted to keep her on antibiotics and not operate on this or any subsequent tumors.  Curiously, however, the last eruption, which was identical to her previous presentation and only a inch or so to the left, seems to be healing.  It appeared virtually overnight.  We continued to treat her with antibiotics and after a week, it is starting to heal over.  Might this be something other than a tumor or is this just an unusual presentation?

Answer
This is all good news......

However much I would love to say this healing tumor is some miracle, I am almost inclined to say that it is not a tumor at all, but an abscess instead.  An abscess looks like a tumor but it will open and drain pus, sometimes when we dont see it drain, such as when the rat helps it along....we think it just disappeared on its own.

Does it have a scab on it or a hole etc...?
