QuestionHi my name is taylor. I just bought a rat not to long ago, and she chews on her
cage alot. she bites the ramps and the wires of the cage. Is this normal?
AnswerHi Taylor
Yes this is so normal. Being your rat is of course a rodent, which means
"rodentia"which means "gnawing"
You can help her out by offering her something to gnaw on such things as low fat dog biscuits to chew on. You can also offer them beef bones from a roast or chicken bones too. Also, nylabone edibles for dogs are great for rats as well.
This should help satisfy her urge to chew for a while and keep her from the bars of the cage.
