macaw trying to lay an egg

we just got a 20 year old macaw and she has been trying to lay an egg for about 4 or 5 days now. She will strain and push but can not seem to get it out is this a problem?

Answer
Yes. This is a very serious problem and you are lucky she's lived this long. When a bird becomes egg bound they often lose their life if #1 the egg doesn't pass successfully within a few hours and #2 if medical intervention isn't secured immediately.

No matter what you have to do or where you have to go, this bird needs to be seen now. There are no home remedies for this, no matter what you might find on the net ok?
