More sneezing!

Question
hi dawn it's me yet again and this time both mice are sneezing. We have
always used carefresh bedding, but they are always sneezing within a few
days after we clean their cage. I think it might be because dust is kicked
up when we clean it, or they just sneeze until their bedding is soiled. I'm
not sure which. Could it be they are alergic to my sister or what ever
human ridden disease is on her?

Once more,
connor

Answer
Not to be rude, but do you think there is ridden disease on her? It just made me look twice when I read that, now on to your problem :)

To know if it is an allergy or something serious here is a simple test. Remove the mice from their environment in a bath tub(with stopper)or a clean empty cage for a few hours. If the sneezing stops then it is in the cage itself and you will need to change the bedding or maybe even the food.

If the problem does not go away then you are looking at an illness from respiratory infections which will require a Vet visit.

If the culprit is the bedding, even care fresh, you can switch to paper shreds(good use for you shredded identify theft paper), towels, or even nothing at all. If you choose to use nothing a small litter box will need to be put in the corner for them to use. It doesn't have to contain litter mice and rats are easy to get to use this box.

If the bedding change doesn't work then the food change is next. You will want to go to another brand, obviously, but there is the alternative of giving them fresh food. Making a baby doll size plate from your leftovers is an easy way and saves you money on food. They eat meat, veggies, bread, and even cakes. Just be careful not to give too much of the water based fruits because you can end up with watermelon.

I hope that this helps. Thank you for writing me again :)
