Question
QUESTION: Hello how are you doing you have given me good advice so far keep it up .Can you give me any mice breeding tips cause they my female mouse haven't gotten pregnant yet and she is sneezing for no reason at all i have them in aspen and i bought her like that (mean sneezing) and i want to know if it is a respitory infection and she is not as active as when i got and in the cage at the pet store she was all by her self hope you write back

ANSWER: Well you need to first make sure to not be using pine as a bedding. It is best to use shredded paper or even Carefresh. This will eliminate the allergy problem. Make sure that they are not near a draft like a window or under a ceiling fan this can causing sneezing as well. Once you get that under control then you can think about breeding.I need more info:

1)How old is your mouse
2)What have you tried as far as breeding?
3)How long has the male and female been together?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: well she stopped sneezing out of no where and the mice are about 2-3 months old the male is younger may be 2 and a half months and the female is way bigger well he still tries though and i don't know what you mean about have tried for breeding and they been together for about two weeks

Answer
Well they are defiantly old enough to mate. The female will go into heat every other week. You will need to give them time to make that connection. It can take some time for him to get enough umph for him to mate properly. Once matted you need to remove him from the cage. You will know that she is pregnant when she starts getting large like a pear. She will make a nest and you need not to clean the cage once that has occurred.  The babies need to be removed after 4-6 weeks to make sure that the mother and babies dont mate...just the males.
