Question
We found two baby mice with there eyes still closed and we brung them home and seen what they were boy or a girl. One was a boy and one was a girl.We kept them and so far it has been a day and a half and we are doing good.we have a small heating pad that we put in a dressor so that half will be warm and half will be normal. We put a couple of baby blankets in there. But what we want to know is if they don't have a heating pad if they will survive?

Answer
Dear Angel,

It's best the mice have something as warm as sitting under a warm mother mouse most of the time. If the room is over 70+ degrees then they don't need the extra heat. It's smart to give them the option of escaping the heat.  if you see them spending all their time on the other side, and it isn't a cold room, they probably don't need it.

They will open their eyes when they are about 14 days old.

I have written quite a lot about taking in and caring for wild mouse foundlings, so look through my past answers for more information, and please feel free to write again with more questions.  Enjoy your new mice!
