Question
QUESTION: Hi Jedediah,

I have a fancy female mouse called Bella. Every time I take her out to play she always pees on me.

Is there any way to stop her doing it?

ANSWER: Dear Jessica,
thank you for your question.
It may be that she's marking you as part of her territory and then there's not much you can do about this, it's normal. But you can try to take her out only when she's been awake for half an hour or so, so that she has already been through her morning rituals.
I hope I was of some help to you

Answer
Dear Jessica,
thank you for your question.
You can just touch her, a dead body is not toxic or something. If you're not comfortable with that, use gloves or a spoon to pick her up. I always bury my mice, wrapped in tissue paper or in a small cardboard box, some in my front yard and some in big flower pots. I'be buried some of my pet rodents in public parks (away from the pathways), too, when I live in a dorm - that may no be legal, though.

Is Bella your only mouse? If she is, I really recommend getting her two other female mice as friends. Mice are very social and shouldn't be kept alone. Introduce them on neutral territory, for example the bathtub, and if the get along there, they can move into a kritter keeper or other transport cage, just with food, water and some hay to hide in. Let them stay there for a day and if they get along, they can move into the normal cage, but it must be cleaned with vinegar and hot water to get rid of Bella's smell and mustn't contain any toys or furniture at first. Put one piece of furniture (also cleaned) in the cage every day so that they can get used to it together until the cage is full again. Usually, female mice get along very well and there are no problems introducing them to each other.

I hope I was of some help to you
