QuestionJust yesterday, I found myself caring for three baby field mice. They very sweet. Their eyes and ears are open and they are very active. My question for them is what should I be trying to feed them. I tried giving them formula, but they didn't seem to care for that. They have lapped up water that I left for them though.
AnswerDear Jess,
Because you don't know whether they are weaned yet, you will need to experiment. Give them a smorgasbord, from soy yogurt, soft cheese, oats, crackers, apple, bacon, carrot, and lettuce. See what they will take. If they aren't weaned yet, they should be most interested in the soy yogurt. They might even need to lick it from your fingers. But if they eat the other stuff, they're fine.
Have fun!
