Mouse in labor

I need help. My mothers mouse in in labor. She keeps on laying down with her eyes closed, and she won't get up. She has contrations, but nothing comes. She has been this way for 4 hours +   Her sister gave birht to her littler yesterday, but killed them all. She had one HUGE baby that was deformed. (Her fist litter) Could this be happening with my moms mouse to? (They share a mate)    It is also her first litter.

Hi Holly,

It's very possible she is having complications.  Problems in pregnancies can be genetic and can come from either parent.  Unfortunately, there isn't much to do to help her along of which I'm aware.  All you can really do is cross your fingers, and maybe call a vet if possible for additional advice.

Now that you know something isn't right, it's best not to risk breeding any of them, including the mate, again in the future.  I'm really sorry, and I hope she's doing okay.  :(
