Question
hello!

So i have this two female mouse named non-tan and lizzy both of them was very over energetic they love to jump while running and playing together which sometimes make their toys get destroyed. Yesterday night i put some new papers cause the old ones was full of pee's. after a minute they start bringing it to their houses. I left them for a one hour and when i go back they started fighting over a piece of paper is it normal?

Answer
Hi Divine,

Chasing and arguing over something can be normal, but if it's real fighting, it should be stopped as soon as possible.  Signs that it is a real problem include: biting, loud squeaks, any kind of injury (you can check by blowing the fur back gently and looking for spots of lost hair or scabs), or "boxing" (standing on the back legs and punching at the other mouse).  They might need a bit of a break, with the aggressor being pulled from the cage and put into another safe enclosure for a few hours.

You may also want to consider changing bedding types, if they like to argue over the paper.  Recycled paper beddings like yesterday's news and carefresh work wonderfully, and aspen shavings are an inexpensive and very efficient choice as well.  They're all pretty comfy and will get less icky when you clean it.  Plus - they're much harder to fight over!

You can also try giving them each a treat on opposite sides of the cage.  Sometimes all they need is a little distraction.  :)
