Got a cold-- should I hold mouse?

I have 2 mice and I was wondering if I have a cold should I play with them or will that make then ill?

Dear Bella,

Thanks for thinking about it.  Although mice don't get human colds, they do get bacterial infections, and so if it turned out either that's what you have, or you get one on top of your cold, the mice can get sick.  Don't panic if you have already played with them-- it's unlikely-- but I'd stay away from them for two days and then (as always) wash  hands very carefully and don't put them near your face.
