Question
ok. so. a few things. i had a mouse and it somehow had babies. i've had her for 3 months and she gave birth 2 weeks ago. and my other mouse her friend is also a girl and she's been getting fat and acting like the other before giving birth. i think the house mouse is getting to them. anyway. how do i prevent this. and how do i know if my other mouse is preg. and how do i prevent my baby mice from getting preg. o and how do i train my new mice to not bite. i held one today and it apparently just got teeth. my knuckle found this out.

Answer
Dear Christopher,
thank you for your question.
If you use a wire cage for the mice, I would recommend wrapping it in mesh panels so that the wild mouse cannot squeeze through the bars or mate with the females through the wire. You can also switch to a tank with a close-fitting lid, but it must be wider than high to ensure proper ventilation. It's also a good idea to try and trap the wild mouse if you haven't tried that already since it can transmit disease to the fancy mice.

A pregnant mouse will start to look pear-shaped late in the pregnancy, but sometimes it's not visible at all. Offer them both plenty of nesting materials and animal protein (mealworms, dried silkworms ect.).

The babies will probably stay shy whatever you do, so far I haven't see or read about a tame half-wild mouse. They are also much more agile than fancy mice and will jump from hands, tables and out of cages, they don't like being touched ot held and will either run/jump away or bite. They should have a very big cage with lots of climbing toys and hiding places.

You need to separate the babies into males and females when they are 28 days old since they can mate at that age. If you are unsure, see a vet with them and place any babies that you can't sex with the males. www.tmca.org/Vets has a list of good rodent vets.
I hope I was of some help to you
