Answer
Dear Siddharth,

I'm so, so sorry about the loss of your little Marlo.  He's actually lucky that he died instantly because he could have been severely injured in a fall.

The sad thing about boy mice is that unless they are litter mates or a father and son pair who have never been separated, male mice usually do not get along.  They can fight to the death.  Most male pet mice are single mice. It helps to get another male and have two cages next to each other so they can talk, which they do in a high pitch you can't hear.  Also a single mouse needs a lot more attention and needs a minimum of an hour of quality people-time a day.  You have to be his mouse friend.  You will probably find that he will become attached to you quickly in the next couple of days and will be eager to be held.  However you may find him sluggish or unhappy-looking because he will be missing his friend and may get depressed. He may lose a little weight. There's not a lot you can do about it except give him love.  Mice really respond to love and handling.

Again I'm terribly sorry for the untimely demise of your little mouse.
