Answer
Dear Jessie,

I answered a question from a 'Jessie" about a pregnant mouse yesterday, so if you are not the same Jessie, please look at my answer to the question:  "My mouse is acting weird is she sick or pregnant."  I gave a lot of detail about pregnancy and baby mice.

Giving pet mice some people food is ok but their main diet should be the seed mix you get at the pet store for mice and rats.  If you are trying to give her extra energy, give her the mashed potatoes with butter mixed in.  But only a teaspoon.

I hope your first pet mouse leads to a nice career of having mice.  They are so sweet and clever, I think they are far better pets than gerbils or hamsters.  Pet girl mice should not live alone, though.  The best is to have three females because even if you have two, if one dies, the other one will get sick from depression.  Two is ok if you can't have three, but she should not live alone.  If she has babies, you can keep some of the girls with her when you take the boys out.

I'm sorry about Speedy, Camouflage, and Ashes' little siblings, but I think it's great that you saved those three.  By the way if they had fur, they were over a week old.

Please let me know if you have further questions!

squeaks n giggles,

Natasha
