Question
I brought home a white big mouse yesterday.  He was food for a python..felt very sorry for it.  I bought a 10 gal. tank w/a screen top.  Big enough?  Also, bit me while I was putting in water.  Scared?  Or just not nice?

Answer
Dear Anne,

Ten gallons is fine for one mouse.  Most important after food and water is a wheel.  Then soft bedding and dark places to hide.  What mice also always want is toilet paper rolls.

Even very tame mice can bite when they are scared, hurt, or startled.  Some pet stores sell only tame mice even for feeders, and some are less careful with their feeders, meaning they might not be tame.  You will have to handle him a little more to make sure.  If you like you can wear gloves until you feel more confident.

Welcome to the wonderful world of pet mice!

squeaks n giggles,
