vole??

Question
Two weeks ago while pulling my garden and turning over the soil, I accidentally killed a rather large mouse, about 5 inches long. Upon further examination, I found a nest with six babies. I brought them inside, looked up info on the internet and began taking care of them. All were very thin but doing well. They seemed dehydrated, so I gave them pedialyte as the sight said, and one by one they died.Except for one. She is thriving and I have been taking care of her for two weeks. She is eating solid food and I thought at some point,I would like to put her back in the wild. I am now  seeing that she looks like a vole. With such a short life expectancy, will she survive? If I keep her what food should I switch her to? Thanks

Answer
Hi Nancy,

Voles do apparently have short lives. There is no reason not to keep her as a pet. A few people have written that a vole is a sweet pet.

I'm not on a computer right now but I suggest two easy places to look. 1. Look on youtube under "pet vole." and 2. Google "what do voles eat."

Have fun with her!

Squeaks n giggles,

Natasha

PS don't trust Yahoo Answers without corroboration somewhere else. It can be a lot of people running off at the mouth who don't know a vole from a possum.
