I want to put a few other small critters in the tank to make it more lively, but I don't know if my crabs will eat them. I want to put a few small bugs like rolly polies (argh I can't spell that) in there. Will they eat it, could it make them sick? And also, is there a way to convince the hermit crab to change its shell without harming it? It came in a Power Rangers shell, and I have a funny monster shell that I want him to have. Is there a way? Thanks.

In my opinion I would never add any bugs or critters in the tank with your crabs! Your crabs will not eat them and the bugs could hurt the crabs! I am sorry you cannot coax a crab to change its shell! I have 2 crabs that have been in the same shells for 2 years now...Please do not force them to do it ..they would rather die than give up their shell!
