Upside Down

Question
Hi...
About 3 weeks ago one of my crabs lost its front legs-although at this point Im pretty sure he was just molting.  (But he did this on the surface despite having about 4 inches of substrate.)  At any rate, he has moved around since,  but not much further than just a few inches from where we found the legs.  Not much activity at all.  About 4 days ago, i woke to find his shell upside down.  No fishy smell, but there has been NO movement since i found him upside down.  Do crabs sleep ir molt upside down?  How long can he go without food and water while he's upside down?
Thanks,
Michelle

Answer
Michelle, He is either going through a hard molt or is not going to make it. I am sorry. Take him out before he is picked on. Put him in isolation. There is nothing you can do. Check his smell when you move him and that's about all you can do, Good Luck, Tina
