Question

Answer
Dear Erica,
thank you for writing me.
Baby hermit crabs don't look like spiders. They live in the water and look a lot like tiny shrimp. Here's a picture of a baby lobster, baby hermit crabs look a lot like this:

The mother carries the eggs under her belly and when they are ready to hatch, she throws them into the ocean. In captivity, they are usually dropped into the saltwater bowl.  The babies hatch and live a few weeks in the sea until they have molted a few tiomes and now they look like adult hermit crabs, just very tiny. They move unto dry land and there or shortly before going on land, they move into their first shell. The mother doesn#t care for them at all after she dropped the eggs.
I hope I was of some help to you
