Did mine die? I feel aweful!

Question
My crab has always been really shy, never came out if you held him or gave him a bath; only came out at night when no lights were on.

About 2 weeks ago, he shedded.
He hasn't moved since.

Today, I got worried and picked him up. I touched him inside his shell and he didnt move at all. When i use to touch at him, he would snap his claw at me, and he didnt. He didn't react at all.

So I put him and the skin he shedded and put in a big zip lock bag. I made sure there was alot of air in it and burried him. about 3 hours later after I did this I started reading online about how they will have a bad smell and fall out of their shell.. So I dug him up and put him back in the cage (he wasn't moving at all still)
(I feel really bad about this!! :( )

Is he dead?

Answer
Hello,
Check the tempeture in your tank . Make sure it is about 75 degrees but no warmer that 80. Your crab may just be tired from the molt! Put his cage somewhere dark and quiet, see if that helps.. You will notice a smell if he has passed or he will fall out of his shell if you pick it up !  Good luck! You can also go to
