guinea pig heat stroke

Question
today I bought a 1 month guinea pig. when I got him home he was fine, Two hours later I heard him rustling around so I went to check on him he was lying on the ground and convulsing. I picked him up and he went totally limp. I then placed him on the floor and put a fan on him but he would not move at all, he was dead. I saw that refusing to move is a symptom of heat stroke in GP's. could I have mistaken not moving for being dead. I saw no signs of life but now Im not sure.

Answer
Jeremy,

I don't quite know how to handle this question. I'm sorry you are in this situation, but I'm afraid I am unable to help you very much with this.

I wasn't there when your piggie was limp so it is impossible to say if he was dead or not. Without seeing him with my own eyes during the whole situation, no-one can tell you.

Again, I apologise for not being able to help you further. And I'm sorry you lost your piggie.

Best Wishes,

- Laura
