Question
my fiancee and i have just bought two 8 week old female piggies from our local pets at home. for the first few days they got on fine. however recently they have started to fight and while they are doing no damage to each other it is very distressing to see them fight. they have a large cage and plenty of room. when they arre out running about they get on great. when we seperate them also the squeal and squeak to get back to one another. can this aggression be stopped or will they have to be seperated.

Answer
Hi Ashley

Based on what you tell me, I would keep them together to get them to work out their differences. Because they are not hurting each other, it is quite possible they are just establishing which pig is the boss pig etc. Females can go through this process just as male pigs do.

Give it a few more days and if their fighting doesnt reduce/stop them you might have to consider separating them.
