Angry piggy?

Question
I went away for 5 days, my fiance was at home though. And I was told that my guinea pig (5 months old..had him for about 2 months)was really calm and just going about his business while I was gone. But, all day yesterday (the day I was on my way home) my fiance said he was nuts. Running everywhere, making tons of noise, almost like he knew I was coming home. He made lots of noise when I got in and this morning, while I was feeding him, it sounded like he chattered at me. (It was like the sound you hear when someone is cold and their teeth chatter.) It was very short. But I have heard that noise means aggression.

He never tried to bite me or run from me (anymore than you normally does) What does this sound mean? Should I be concerned?

Answer
Hi Jen

Chattering teeth does means aggression but only towards another guinea pig, so you can rest assured that your piggy isnt angry with you.

I do really think that after a few days he realised you were away and was missing you.

If you continue to be concerned over the coming days, please write back and we will re-investigate, but I dont think you need to worry about any health concerns etc.
