Baby guinea

Question
We have a guinea pig who gave birth two days ago. There are two of the little babies. One of them is very healthy, no worries there, however, the other one has an upside-down paw eiter due to malformation or a break during birth. The ears do not appear to be open either. Originally, the mother would regularly feed the runt, but more recently, the runt only gets food when the bigger baby is being fed in the same place. The runt was doing better last night than this morning in that it was running around and trying to follow it's mother. Now, it is hardly moving around at all, and only squirms when you try to pick it up... What do you reccomend I do?

Answer
Hi Sarah
Normally the mother will feed the babies at the same time but the runt may be sick and might die if it is skinny then pick the mother up and put the runt on the mums nipple to so it can suckle and get milk
If it gets worse then you may have to take it to a vet or if worst comes to worst then you may have to have him put to sleep
just see how it goes first

All the best
Mitchell
