Do guinea pigs mourn?

We have had 2 female guinea pigs since they were about 8 weeks old and they would now be 3.5.  Today, one of them died after seeming unwell for about 2 days.  How will the other one react?  She is eating a bit but I haven't seen her drink today.  Is is a good idea to get another young female guinea pig as a companion?

Guinea pigs DO morn the loss of a friend or sibling but not all pigs are alike.
My Ron couldnt care less when his brother died!
You could try getting her another friend as they are better with company than all alone but get either a neutered male or another female. Try your local rescue place as these have been treated by a vet prior to rehoming. In the meantime give her lots of attention and extra cuddles
