male vs female

Hi I have 2 guinea pigs that turned into 6!! I have separated the sow and boar, mum and babes are in an indoor hutch but when can I put the mum and dad back together? I tried putting him back in with her but she is obviously still in heat as all he wanted to do was 'get' with her so he went straight back outside!

Hi Saara

Guinea Pigs will always fall into heat every couple of weeks so unless you want babies again you may have to get the male de-sexed or spayed

The male will mate with the female again if they are put together as this will normally happen during the night or in the early morning
