Question
Hi Brittany,
I own two piggies and I would really like to reduce the smell they produce by cleaning their cage 2 times a day. However, I hear from different people that I should only clean out their cage once in 2 days because I need to let them eat their Vitamin A from their poop. However, can't I just give them vitamin A in powdered form in their food? I would REALLY love to hear what I can do so I can keep my piggies clean and not smelly and be able to clean their cage twice a day. :) Thank you so much.

Answer
Guinea pigs will eat their poop right when it comes out for vitamins if they need it. The feces they eat is softer, it is the poop that went through the digestive system and all  the nutrients didnt get absorbed. It would not hurt to clean out the cage as many times as you would like, just make sure you give you pig plenty of veggies, pellets and hay and they should have plenty of nutrients.
