wierd behaviour

i have 2 female guinea pigs over 1 years old and for the past few days one of them has constantly been biting,licking or something similiar to the other ones bottom. why?

Are you sure you have two females, not a male and a female? If you have a male and a female they could be trying to breed.
If you don't know how to tell if a guinea pig is a male or a female, you can go to http://www.guinealynx.info/sexing.html .
