Question
Hello, my name is Taylor, and i own a 4 year old guinea pig. The other day I noticed that she had some black stuff in her ears. I was wondering if you could please help me on how to get her ears clean without causing any harm to her!
please help, hope to hear back.

Answer
Whatever the black stuff is, as long as she's not scratching excessively there's nothing you need to do. If you feel like you want to clean out her ears you can use a damp cotton ball (NO Q TIPS)and gently clean inside. Q tips are dangerous because if she moves you can lose control of the tip and it can injure the delicate inside of the ear.

If she has dark ears then you may be seeing just the normal skin flaking that happens to all of us and we just don't always see it. There's an old saying that is very wise, "If it's not broken, don't fix it.
