mum and babies

Hi,
When the mum has given birth to her babies am I still allowed to hold the mum? I know I'm not supposed to hold the babies for 14 days - does that go for mum aswell?

Hey, Katie.
Yes, you are right about not holding the babies for 14 days.. and yes, that goes for the mum as well.  Only reason for this is because you want her to be as comfortable as possible right now, so that she can take real good care of her babies.   So until 14 days, the least contact you come in with her/her babies/her cage.. the better.
