Question
What is the minimum size needed for 1 dwarf hamster?

Answer
Hi,
thank you for your question. I'm sorry it took so long but AllExperts had a problem with their database yesterday and I couldn't send my reply.
For one dwarf hamster you need an enclosure that is at least 2.5 ft long, 16 inches deep and 16 inches high. Since it's hard to find a suitable cage (mostly the bars are too far apart), old tanks make good homes for dwarf hamsters.
A tank should always be as wide as high or wider to ensure proper air circulation. Both tank and cage need to have second stories to give the hamster more floor space.
I hope I was of some help
Jennifer
