Hamster injury due to drop

Question
Hi.  Our wonderful hamster, Theodore, suffered an injury today when he was being carried in his exercise ball and it accidentally was dropped.  He's limping now and it seems as though one back leg was injured.  When we put him in his cage, he started making crying noises and seemed frantic.  He moved around, but still dragged one leg.  Now he's calmer, but still seems to be in some pain.  We can't take him to the vet until tomorrow.  I'm scared and don't know what to do.

Answer
Hello! It seems as if his leg was broken or at least injured. More likely broken. He should survive to see the doctor. Buy some vitamin drops and take the wheel out of his cage. You don't want him climbing or running around too much. The multi vitamin drops will help boost his immune system and give him proper nutrition. The vet will probably put a splinter or something on it to help it heal properly. There's not much that can be done except to try to keep him as comfortable as possible and make sure he doesn't move too much. Good luck with your hamster and keep me posted.
