teddy bear hamster!!!

i just recently got a teddy bear hamster from the pet store, ive noticed over the past week that she makes these strange noises as if she was sneezing, and when she makes the noise she kind of jerks very very softly. Does she have allergies, is she adjusting to my house, lonely , sad, i dont understand!!?

Hi Neira,

Your hamster may have allergies.  If you have other house pets, such as a cat or dog, try to keep them out of the room your hamster is in (which you should do anyway).  And, make sure your hamster's cage isn't in a drafty area, such as near a window, or underneath an air conditioning/heating vent.  Finally, use Aspen or Carefresh bedding only.  Avoid Pine and Cedar beddings, which cause respiratory infections and skin allergies/infections.
