Dear Angie,
I would not recommend even keeping a hamster and a gerbil together. They don't usually get along and they can not naturally breed. It is physically impossible to interbreed them. Although they are very similar and both rodents they are too different, most hamsters species cannot even breed and the two that can even have risks if doing so.
