is my hamster ill or pregnant

my daughters hamster has a little bit of blood around its private areas and im not sure if she is ill or about to give birth she generally looks ok and id still quite active my daughter did mate her or try to with our male hamster  so im not sure if its normal for blood to be present before birth please can u help as she is very worried incase she is sick oh and also she does feel quite heavy is there any way of being able to tell if she is pregnant

how long has the blood been there? Is she showing any of the signs or symptoms of pregnancy, such as the fat tummy, building a nest or since you think she may be giving birth is she having labored breathing or is she active and running about but bleeding from the behind? She could have a urinary tract infection if she appears normal and is not acting like she's going into labor. I would take her to a vet asap to get looked at to make sure that she is okay though. Hamsters may have a little blood from birth because of her having the fluids around the babies, but for her to be active and running about in her cage and to still have blood means there could be an infection.
