Question
My hamster had contact with a male but i didn't see anything happen. She is taking food and nesting material to the top floor, she is a little chunkier. Is she pregnant? HELP!!!!!!!

Answer
Dear Isabella,,
thank you for your question.
Hamsters mate very quickly, so there's a good chance that she is pregnant. Offer her plenty of nesting material like hay and unscented toiletpaper/paper tissues and give her extra animal protein: mealworms,  crickets, silkworms (dead or alive), dried brine shrimp ect. Clean the cage now and then leave it until the babies are starting to leave the nest by temselves and don't get carried right back by their mother, that's usually when they are about 16 days old. The tilet corner, if she uses one, can be clean every few days, that doesn't bother her and will keep the smell down.

Syrian hamsters are pregnant for 16-19 days, dwarf hamster for 19-23 days, depending on the species. You will need to separate the male babies form the females and the mother after 32 (Syrians) or 29 days (dwarfs). They should stay with each other and the females with the mother for a few more weeks, though, to learn from each other.
I hope I was of some help to you
