Dwarf hamster Winter White dust bath

Hi Sheila,

Just purchased your book, which is excellent. You mentioned in your last answer to me giving my hamster a dust bath when she is completely recovered. There is Chinchilla sand and dust, and there is confusion over which is harmful. Can you confirm which one I need? And a manufacturer?

The one I use is sand (sorry for any confusion about calling it dust).  In the past I have bought it in pet shops and it usually comes in a plastic container that looks a bit like a 2litre milk carton.  I don't have any specific brands in mind but here is a link that might help: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Supreme-Petfoods-Science-Bathing-Litre/dp/B0036768OGI - they advertise this one as being dust free and safe for hamsters.
