ferret is acting weird maybe sick

my ferret is wiping her butt on the floor, she is also sniffing and licking her butt very often, and she is eeating less then ussual

Hi Ilya,

Ferrets typically "wipe" their rear ends after going to the litter box so that's not necessarily a problem but if she's acting like she hurts by licking and looking at her butt allot it could be a problem.

If she has not had her anal glands removed or removed incompletely one or both could be impacted. Inspect her rear end carefully; look for redness and/or swelling. Also, she could have a full or partial blockage from chewing on soft toys or bedding. Have you noticed if her poops are very thin, loose or non-existent?

The best answer I can give you is to take her to a ferret knowledgeable vet. If she is not eating as much as normal and not acting normally then a trip to the vet is always a good idea.
