my sick ferret

I just bought my ferret at local store and I may just be anxious but he is sneezing and coughing, and when he is sleeping he has awkward breathing patterns, like real quick at moments. I need to know what to do if you can help me

I'm sorry I'm not sure what that is.

I only have a two guesses; it might be the bedding. What do you use as bedding? Pine, Cedar, Carefresh, Sheets and blankets?

Don't use any wood for a bedding, that can cause fatal respiratory problems. Carefresh also shouldn't be use though it isn't as dangerous as wood.

For bedding use old sheets, baby blankets, fleece bedding, old cloths such as t-shirts, and sweatshirts. They and you will be much better off for it. (nothing is as cute as a ferret snuggling down in a sheet). They are much happier with those kind of things for bedding.

My only other thought is the flu or influenza both which ferrets can get. The symptoms for that are thick clear discharge from the nose and eyes, sneezing, swollen red membranes around the eye, decreased appetite, lethargy, and high fever.

Either way I think your best bet would be to take him to the vet ASAP.
