Questionwhy is my ferrit losing its hair
AnswerDear friend,
There could be several serious issues going on with your ferret.
If the hair loss is beginning at the base of the tail (near its butt, not the tip of the tail) and moving up through the ferret's body, this could be adrenal disease. If left untreated, adrenal tumors in ferrets will cause severe hair and weight loss, extreme fatigue, organ damage, and death. Please see a vet immediately if this sounds about right. Your ferret could be very sick and need treatment.
Malnutrition can also cause hair loss, but this usually appears as a thin coat of fur with some bald patches.
Either way, this is a sick ferret that needs medical attention as soon as possible. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Stephenie
