My Ferret is ill.

My ferret's face is swollen.  I tried searching the internet but have found nothing like this.  I don't know what to do, and where I live there is not a vet who deals with ferrets.  His face has become so swollen he cannot open his eye now.  What caused this?

Sounds to me like your ferrets got bit by something.  Ants are bad also they can get bite by any other thing.  Did this just happen or was it over time?  Try giving your ferret some Benedryl.  Get the capsules and only give a very small amount.  If it is a bite that should take care of it.  Sometimes they can get tumors, but I have 20 ferrets and swelling of the face is usually a bite of some sort.
