Question
i have 3 adopted ferrets,  all desexed 2 girls one male,  The male is about 7/8  , I am in australia, and the hot weather is starting, i keep them cool.
The male  has become very bony and skinny feeling.  he stilleats well, and plays but seems less energetic.   is this just old age catching up with him    he does like to be cuddled more.  I was worried in case something else.I want to do my best and keep them happy,  thanks  Jan

Answer
Although older ferrets do start to wind down as they age, their weight should remain steady. I would be most concerned about him becoming so skinny, so you should take him to your vet for a check up and rule out any disease. He may need special nutrition or vitamins, but your vet would be your best bet at this point.
