weird noise

Hello-
I just got  a ferret a couple days ago and when I'm playing with him or when he gets behind furniture he makes this really weird sneezing noise. Is that allergies, or is he making that noise because he's excited or scared? And if it is allergies, what should I do? Thanks,Shalana

Being so low to the ground, ferrets tend to find all the places we forget to clean.  Usually if it sounds like a sneeze, that is exactly what it is.  Pay attention to him and if seems like he is doing it all the time and he sounds congested, he may have a cold and need a vet trip.  It is thought that we can give them a cold if we have one!
