ferret and beagle

I have a 3 year old beagle and have just adopted a 2 month old ferret.  What is the best way to introduce the two so that they may be companions?

Answer
Ferrets and some dogs can learn to play together, but no dog should be left unsupervised.  Especially a hunting breed like a Beagle.  Please only allow them time together when you are immediately available to assist if the beagle gets too mouthy.  If the ferret doesn't seem interested, then they shouldn't be allowed time together.I would never suggest that they could be companions, maybe just occasional supervised play mates.
