Question
QUESTION: My ferret ate a Flintstones immunity health vitamin, and my vet has no idea if it will hurt her, could it cause any damage?

ANSWER: Dear Selena,
My advice to you, since your vet doesn't know, (which surprises me) is to call the Flintstones vitamin people and see if they can tell you.  I've never had anything like this happen to me, but I know how sneaky and resorseful these little fuzzies can be.  They will investigate ANYTHING.  And, knowing that they have sweet teeth, it's a good idea to make sure candies, raisins, and anything sweet or colorful is out of reach.

I sincerely hope, Selena, that the vitamin is harmless.  It's obvious that you are a good fuzzie mom and hard as we try, these freaky things seem to pop up.  Please keep me posted as I am concerned for both you and your sneaky little fuzzie.

Warm Regards,
Janet

QUESTION: I called a exotic vet in another county who informed me that she should be okay, my vet is not an exotic pet veterinarian. I live in a very small town only one vet. Thank you for the help and information its hard to find good information on ferrets you would think there would be more. I also just got a baby boy ferret who is 2 months old i gave him some raw meat(rabbit) and he inhaled it and became quite aggressive looking for more and hissing is that normal?

Answer
Dear Selena,

You certainly have some unusual ferret experiences and questions.  Bless your heart.  Since your new little ferret seemed to become aggressive after the rabbit, I sure wouldn't give it to him again.  And, certainly not raw.   Reason?  It's not a good idea to ever reward an act of aggression.  These little guys learn extremely fast.  And, he may determine he'll get what he wants by becoming aggressive.  Don't buy into that, dear.  Bad habits, once established, are VERY hard to break.

I hope I've been of some help.  As always, I wish you the best of luck.

Warm Regards,
Janet
