Question
i have two ferrets one male and one female i have had them for about three years now and just for the last two or three weeks my male ferret has been biting my female on the right ear making her squeal and i can yell at him or hit the cage and it doesn't get his attention i have to reach in the cage and tap him on the head why now is he doing this?

Answer
Hello Tracy.

Ear biting is common ferret behavior.  It is best to try to discourage him, since he is being a annoyance and pestering your little girl.  One thing you could try is to either say "NO" in a loud voice and scruff him  until he gives in to you. (Scruffing does not hurt him, but he might not like it!)  Then, separate him as a punishment.  This should help discourage the bad behavior and give your girl some relief.
