Bringing poop in the house

Question
I have a Yorkshire Terrier that is 6 years old. He was trained as a puppy to use the dog door and go to the bathroom outside. However, within the last six months, he has started to periodically bring his "waste" in the house. Sometimes he even acts like he is bringing it to me. As I am completely unsure of why he is doing this, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Alicia,
I can't be sure why he is brining his waste inside, but I do have a few ways you can discourage him for doing so.

First make sure that his waste is picked up frequently so there is nothing lingering outside. If this is not the issue then go to next step.

Lets not scold him for doing so, if he is to bring you something unwanted a firm NO and take it away from him. Lets just make his waste unpleasant to pick up and bring in. I want you to leave a few of his droppings behind in your yard, spray them good with either a commercial spray (bitter apple) or you can use household white vinegar. This will make him not want to smell or pick up the waste.

Try this and let me know how this is working for you.
