Question
Hi
I hope you are well.
I have a two months old puppy. he poops and pees in the house.
I take him out every two hours but I still miss. I tried training him to go on
the pad in the bathroom and he was good the first day or two. But now he
sometimes goes there sometimes not. What do u suggest I should do?
Thanks
Azadeh

Answer
Hello, Azadeh!

Puppy potty training takes time, more for some than others.  The best thing you can do is be consistent, and perhaps take him out every hour to begin with.  Once you can see how frequently he actually needs to go you can adjust the timing accordingly.  I also strongly recommend crate training - it can be very helpful at this stage.  You will also need to be sure to thoroughly clean and neutralize the odor from any are puppy has soiled in the house so that he doesn't go back to that spot.  You can neutralize the odor after cleaning by applying a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar, then pat dry with a towel.  Please read this blog post:  http://blog.gizmo2wizmo.com/2008/09/13/house-train-your-dog-the-easy-way.aspx

Good luck!
